The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) will launch the third set of the limited edition 2013 Native Orchids of Singapore Coins on August 2.
The silver-proof colour coins are the third in a series that feature over 200 species of orchids that once thrived in Singapore.
The coming issue of the two coins will feature two native orchids: Bulbophyllum flabellum-veneris and Dendrobium crumenatum.
The Bulbophyllum flabellum-veneris is a yellow orchid that is becoming increasingly endangered in Singapore.
The second, commonly known as the "Pigeon Orchid", grows freely in lowland forest and woodlands.
A special feature of the coins is that a portion of their circumference will be semi-rimless.
The flip side of the coins bears the Singapore Arms with the year 2013.
The coins can be bought individually or as a coin set.
